Marian McNeil

CEO

Marian is the Chief Executive for Precision Medicine Scotland and has worked there for 3 years. She has a background in Management, Business Development and Professional Relations working in large pharmaceutical companies, including Eli Lilly and AstraZeneca. She recently (2016) gained a Masters in Stratified Medicine and Pharmacological Innovation from the University of Glasgow.

She has extensive experience of the medical marketing interface for oncology pipeline products and has been part of a large multi-disciplinary team focused on development through to successful launch of targeted treatments for cancer.

Lynn McMahon

Project Manager

Lynn McMahon is a Project Manager at Precision Medicine Scotland. Lynn has a BSc (Hons) in Developmental Biology from the University of Glasgow with over 20 years’ experience in the coordination, management and delivery of complex clinical trials.

Lynn is currently managing the AstraZenca (AZ) Genomics medicine Partnership, FutureMS and SteatoSITE projects by developing and delivering effective project management, monitoring and reporting on activities and outcomes for these projects between multiple Scottish academic, NHS clinical partners, informatics companies, Industry partners, Scottish Enterprise and PMS-IC teams. Lynn has extensive knowledge and understanding of the regulatory requirements governing clinical research covering data collections, drug trials, service delivery and genomics.

Marc Jones

Head of Laboratory

Marc Jones is the Laboratory and Facilities Manager at Precision Medicine Scotland, where he oversees the laboratories, including the next generation sequencing and biospecimen processing, which includes the production of libraries, sequencing and return of data. He has 15 years’ experience managing labs across the world, working in Australia, USA and the UK. Marc holds a BSc (Hons) and MPhil from the University of Queensland.

Previously, Marc has held positions as a Research Scholar at the Cleveland Clinic’s Lerner Research Center, a Senior Scientific Officer at the Beatson Institute and more recently as Laboratory Manager for the Glasgow Precision Oncology Laboratory Major projects that Marc has been involved in include, the International Cancer Genome Consortium, where he was responsible for extraction of DNA and RNA from Pancreatic tumours, and SteatoSITE where he is overseeing the production a whole transcriptome libraries from formalin fixed paraffin embedded liver biopsies for use in a data commons.

Harriet Ellis

Scientist

Hattie is a Technician at PMS-IC. As part of the laboratory team she plays a key role in the delivery of projects, such as by preparing DNA and RNA libraries and performing Next Generation Sequencing. Hattie graduated with a BSc in Pharmacology and MSc in Stratified Medicine and Pharmacological Innovation both from the University of Glasgow.

Hattie gained experience in Next Generation Sequencing during her industry placement at PMS-IC for her Master's project, in the field of cardiovascular genomics

Samuel McKenna

Scientist

Emily Coulston

PA to CEO

Emily is the Receptionist/Front of House for Precision Medicine Scotland. She has more than 6 years’ experience in front of house roles. Emily provides high level professional administrative and secretarial support to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Precision Medicine Scotland and the team to enhance its internal and external efficiency, effectiveness and reputation.

In addition, Emily has recently taken on the role of managing the PMS-IC social media accounts.

Maree Devine

Business Development

Maree joins PMS-IC as Business Development Manager bringing over 20 years’ commercial experience in the biotech and pharma industries having led strategic marketing, branding, communications and product launch campaigns as well as successful sales and business development programmes across Europe and the US. Originally from Clydebank, Maree holds a BSc & MSc in Infectious Disease from University of Glasgow, completed a PhD at the University of Nottingham and spent two years as a Research Fellow at the University of Leeds.

James Ley

PR & Marketing

James is the PR and Marketing Manager for Precision Medicine Scotland. With a background in digital marketing and social media strategy, James has worked in Marketing for more than ten years and most recently he was a Senior Marketing Manager for NHS National Services Scotland.
